Qld: Skeleton found in field could be 150 years old, police say

Police say human remains found in a Queensland pumpkin field this week may be more
than 150 years old.

Detective Senior Constable MICHAEL LOVEDAY of Warwick police says a farmer found the
bones as he ploughed a paddock at Clintonvale, about 150 kilometres southwest of Brisbane.

Detective LOVEDAY says the skeleton was probably uncovered when heavy rain last week
stripped the area of topsoil.

He says the bones may have been there since settlers first cut their way into the Darling
Downs area.

It's not known whether they are the remains of a man or a woman.
