Internet job axe

MAGAZINE group EMAP today said it planned to scale down itsInternet-based operation in a move set to result in up to 100 joblosses.

The company declined to say where the cuts would be achieved,although it is likely to involve around 20 per cent of the 500-strong digital-based workforce.

EMAP, publisher of lads' magazine FHM, added that it would halvethe amount it planned to invest in digital projects over the nextfinancial year to pounds 25 million.

Group chief executive Kevin Hand said the company would eitherscale back or close down sites as it focused on key Internetprojects.
