SA: Perre implicated by NCA inquest evidence, counsel says
Coroner WAYNE CHIVELL has been told the inquest into the National Crime Authority bombing
has heard compelling evidence to implicate DOMENIC PERRE in the fatal attack.
As the four-month inquest draws to a close, counsel assisting the coroner JOSIE ATKINS has
said the police were right to target PERRE over the parcel bomb attack on the NCA's Adelaide
office on March 2, 1994.
PERRE was charged within days over the bombing - which killed Detective Sergeant GEOFFREY
BOWEN and seriously injured lawyer PETER WALLIS.
But the charges were dropped by the Director of Public Prosecution because of a lack of
evidence.
Ms ATKINS says PERRE can be implicated in the manufacture of the bomb and the murder of
Detective Sergeant BOWEN.
Mr CHIVELL says he cannot consider whether PERRE is guilty of murder because he is unable
to lay blame in his finding.
The inquest continues tomorrow with the closing submission from JOHN QUIGLEY, the lawyer
representing Detective Sergeant BOWEN'S widow JANE and Mr WALLIS.
