Fed: Turning back IR laws will cause wages blowout: Costello

The federal government says Labor and the ACTU will spend 100 million dollars .. trying
to overturn the Work Choices laws if elected .. causing a wages blowout and driving up
interest rates.

Treasurer PETER COSTELLO has told The Australian newspaper .. Labor's plan will lead
to a wages explosion across the economy .. at a time when inflation is near to three per
cent.

Mr COSTELLO says with the economy operating on record low levels of unemployment ..

it's critical to maintain a decentralised industrial relations framework .. to avoid putting
pressure on wages.
